If you’re looking to have a healthy skin but still have problems with sugar cravings, then dark chocolate for diet is the answer to all your skin problems and sugar cravings.

Why chocolate is a good sweet treat for those trying to quit sugar for their skin?

Often people assume that chocolate is bad for skin or chocolate can cause eczema and acne breakouts. However, cacao bean in itself is actually pretty harmless and the majority of people who experience eczema or skin breakouts while eating chocolate can be attributed to two things namely: ingredients and histamine.

How Dark Chocolate

Ingredients, like high fructose corn syrup, wheat, dairy, soy, and chemical additives are shown to cause eczema breakouts. This is because these processed ingredients contain inflammatory properties, which over time can hurt our skin.

How Dark Chocolate For Diet Is Beneficial For Your Skin?

Lessens Inflammation In Your Heart – Chocolate is full of anti-inflammatory properties! From the research studies, it has been found that digestive gut bacteria breaks down and ferments the components in dark chocolate, turning them into anti-inflammatory compounds which in turn reduces the inflammation of your cardiovascular system. A healthy cardiovascular system helps your skin to maintain homeostasis within the body.

It Reduces Sugar Cravings – Organic raw cacao dark chocolates could lower your appetite by turning down levels of the hunger hormone. This is because cacao is rich in fiber and protein which is far more satisfying to your body. Also, the healthy fat in dark chocolate is, making you crave less for sweet foods!

Butterfat Lowers Bad Cholesterol – The saturated fats found in organic raw cacao butter can actually help lower levels of bad cholesterol and boost levels of good cholesterol. On the other hand, good cholesterol is essential for your skin as it helps to build and repair damaged gut lining!

Protects Your Skin From Drying Out & Sunburn – Raw dark chocolate contains four times as much phenols and catechins as tea. These antioxidants protect our skin from sunburn and skin cancer. Also, cacao boosts blood circulation to the fine skin capillaries in the top layer of your skin, helping them to draw more oxygen and nutrients to protect the skin against dehydration and burns.

Reduces Stress Hormones that Leads to Collagen Breakdown – Cacao dark chocolates are rich in antioxidants — flavonoids and flavonols in particular. Our skin suffers ultraviolet damage from exposure to the elements, leading to photoaging, and antioxidants can potentially mitigate those effects. Cacao has been proven to help reduce stress hormones. This is great for our skin, as fewer stress hormones mean fewer collagen breakdowns and fewer wrinkles!

Antioxidants And Minerals Promote New Cell Growth – Aside from being full of antioxidants, chocolate also contains minerals like copper, iron and zinc, all of which play a vital role in cell growth. These minerals are especially important if you have eczema.

Now, of course, you won’t think twice before popping a piece of dark chocolate into your mouth. If you are looking for optimal health benefits out of your sweet treats as well as reduce sugar cravings or high blood sugar, then include dark chocolate in your diet.

WHAT IS MEANT BY CACAO?

Chocolate is always in the news especially when it comes to the various health benefits it offers. But when researchers talk about chocolate, they do not mean the sugar-packed ones you can find in the supermarket. Instead, they mean the dark cacao chocolates. As a minimally processed product, cacao nibs and cacao powder preserve the living enzymes found in the plant, as well as all its incredible nutrients, minerals and antioxidants.

Likewise cocoa, raw cacao is never roasted at high temperatures. When they are roasted at high temperatures, as a result, it changes the molecular structure of the cocoa bean, putting an end to much of its natural goodness. Not only this, but regular chocolate also features added dairy milk and sugar. These ingredients offset the health benefits offered by raw cacao.

Along with the mood-enhancing feature, cacao also contains an impressive amount of magnesium – a mineral that is vital for a huge number of biochemical processes. Magnesium, in turn, helps in boosting the concentration level. It helps prevent iron deficiency and even improves the heart health.

THE MOOD BOOSTING EFFECTS OF CACAO

Organic raw cacao chocolate can really help you in lifting your mood. From the research studies, it has been discovered that cacao stimulates the brain to release neurotransmitters which in turn helps in releasing feel-good hormones such as phenylethylamine. The compound phenylethylamine or known as the “love drug” because of the feeling of calmness it invokes. This compound helps in enhancing mental focus and concentration, counter depression and anxiety, and also helps in improve our moods in general.

Along with higher concentration of PEA, cacao is also packed with tryptophan. Tryptophan is sort of an amino acid that is linked to serotonin production. Low serotonin level is the leading cause of depression, therefore it is very much vital in maintaining the level of this neurotransmitter or if your body lacks it you need to boost its level. And cacao is a great first step.

No doubt, chocolate has the potential to boost your mood and now even the science has proved it. But before you grab that chocolate bar, just remember that not all cacao is created equal.

To enjoy all the mood-boosting effects of this cacao superfood, make sure you opt for cacao nibs or cacao powder. These raw products have the rich concentration of all the required nutrients, antioxidants and minerals found in the cacao bean, without any of the added ingredients. All the products are not only good but are also great, premium, organic, raw and whole foods. They are certified organic, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, cold-processed and have low Glycemic Index.

Just as radishes or turnips have green tops and roots, the maca also has a similar appearance and size. The color of maca skin ranges from red to yellow and black. The organic raw maca powder supplier in Malaysia provides them in powder form after being harvested and grounded down.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF MACA

ITS HIGH NUTRITION CONTENT – Maca root powder is highly nutritious and is a great source of important vitamins and minerals. It is a good source of proteins and carbs, has the low content of fat and contains a fair amount of fibre. It is also a rich source of vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, copper and iron. Furthermore, it contains many bioactive plant compounds including glucosinolates and polyphenols.

ITS RICH IN ANTIOXIDANTS – From the studies, it has been revealed that polysaccharides which are derived from maca has high antioxidant activity and are effective in fighting against free radical damage. It is also helpful in significantly reducing the level of cholesterol and triglycerides in the liver. It also reduces blood sugar, thereby preventing the development of chronic disease. The antioxidant content of maca can also protect against neurological damage.

As per the Aqueous Extract of Black Maca (Lepidium meyenii) on Memory Impairment Induced by Ovariectomy conducted by Gonzales GF and his fellow mates, black maca improved experimental memory impairment by its antioxidant and ache inhibitory activities.

BOOST THE LEVEL OF ENERGY & MEMORY – Those who on regular basis use maca powder has revealed that it makes them feel more energized and keeps their memory sharp. If the body maintains positive energy levels, it ultimately helps in improving mood and from the earlier studies it has been found that maca may reduce the symptoms of depression. Although it’s still not clear, how maca increases energy levels, it is still believed that it prevents spikes and crashes in blood sugar and maintain adrenal health. 2 studies from China in 2006 and 2011 found Black Maca to be superior for increasing memory, concentration and learning skills.

As per the pilot study in postmenopausal women “Maca reduces blood pressure and depression” published in 2006, black maca helps in improving cognitive function while all other color maca helps in getting rid of depression.

IT PROTECTS YOUR SKIN FROM SUN – Ultraviolet rays from the sun are responsible for burning and damaging the unprotected, exposed skin. Over time, UV radiation can cause wrinkles and increase the chances of skin cancer. Apply maca extract to your skin as it provides protection from UV radiation. The protective effect can be attributed to the polyphenol antioxidants and glucosinolates found in maca. It only protects the skin when applied to the skin, not when eaten.

In a study conducted by Gonzales-Castañeda C, Gonzales GF published in February 2008 in Photodermatol Photoimmunol Photomed Journal Maca extracts protect the skin against UV irradiations and can be suggested as an alternative means of solar protection.

How To Use Maca? Maca is easy to incorporate into your diet. It can be taken as a supplement or added to smoothies, oatmeal, baked goods, energy bars and more.
